2. Killington Peak

Snag a lift ticket and watch the colors unfold from above. Let the K-1 Gondola express whisk you away on a mile and a quarter ride over Vermont's Green Mountains (which of course will be speckled with brilliant yellows, oranges and reds).

Once your feet are safely planted back on the ground, jump into your car and cruise over to Woodstock. This quintessential New England town sits at the edge of the Green Mountains and is renown for its architecture of houses and churches.

It's also home to the Middle Covered Bridge, just one of the many covered bridges in the state.

4. Sugarbush Farms

A visit to this working farm is well worth the bumps and turns of driving the backroads to get there. The farmers make their own cheese and maple syrup with plenty of samples for you to try.

Learn about how maple is tapped from trees by spending a few minutes inside the sugarhouse. Or take a nice, quiet walk along the maple tree trail.

5. Hathaway Farms & the Largest Corn Maze in VT

Trek over to the largest corn maze in Vermont at Hathaway Farms in Rutland. Spanning 12 acres, it features a different themed layout each year and as you wander your way around, you'll come across clues that will help you reach the end of the maze. Keep your energy up and pick up some munchies at the snack shack right inside the maze - that is, if you can find it.

Bonus! Visit the farms on a Saturday evening and enjoy what's known as Midnight Madness, where the maze stays open until 11pm. Walking through corn and viewing the night sky is simply aMAZE-ing.
